Many organizations have applications or network devices that need to relay mail through Exchange for delivery to the outside world. In Exchange 2007, Microsoft has made it quite difficult to setup an anonymous relay host, in an effort to reduce spam. However, we still have several applications that may need this access and in this video tutorial, Grant will show you how to build a Receive Connector that allows for anonymous relay from specific IP addresses.

Highlights from this video:
  • Demo of Exchange server denying relay with anonymous access
  • Making a new SMTP Receive Connector and configuration
  • Adding permissions to the Relay Receive Connector via Exchange Management Shell
  • What have we built?
and much more
